Involved

I don’t know if my Facebook page is any kind of window on the national consciousness, but I found a very interesting contrast there yesterday.

I have a few hundred friends from the New York area. Virtually all of them posted status updates related to 9/11. These ranged from the typical tribute photos and “Never Forget” declarations, to posting photos of friends and family members who died that day.

I also have a few hundred friends who aren’t from the New York area. Most of them posted regular stuff, like homemade memes, unrelated political commentary and photos of babies that I’m supposed to find adorable.

I don’t know what any of this means. It’s just something I noticed.
